Yessir. American actor Idris Elba is in the country as you might know... or not know. I honestly didn't know he was. Dude is one of my favourite actors. The "The Wire" actor is currently putting in work in South Africa shooting a movie on Nelson Mandela’s life called Long Walk to Freedom. Cool stuff!! But now the American actor is apparently working on a house music album too. The EP titled Supersonic is being recorded in SA. And do you wanna know why? It's because the EP was inspired by South African house music... so he says. I heard a snippet on the joint, it is fun, funky and more towards electro music. Anyway, just last night he launched his first single titled Robot, which has a music video featuring our very own Terry Pheto. SOULJA BOY GOT PAID $500K TO PERFORM IN SA??
Who ever paid Soulja Boy to come perform in South Africa definitely has money to play around with. Apparently the USA rapper has been booked to do two performances in South Africa, each paying him $250 000, that is about R 2 000 000 (2 million). For each concert? For Soulja Boy? SMH... I need to be friends with this promoter.
The rapper took to his Twitter page and tweeted: "Just booked two shows in South Africa 250K a piece. Capacity at the venue is 18,000. this should be fun" - @souljaboy.
